More Life 3 - Fendy

Ditzy Doggo

With the weather getting nicer and things picking up, I figured why not take a break from the content to show a little bit of the crazy and lovable dog taking up some of my life? Fendy is 3 years old, and while she is not my dog, her training has been foisted upon me. It’s ok because she’s so cute, and genuinely a very good dog. Some of the tricks I’ve trained her to follow:

  • Stay

  • Sit

  • Play dead

  • Hold

  • Fetch

  • Stand up

  • Heel (slow down and walk behind me)

Currently, I’m training her to walk by me while unleashed. So far, she has really taken to it. Perhaps because she gets a little bit of freedom. Due to how crazy the area I live in can be, I only unleash her when I walk her in the morning and if there are no other dogs around. She actually probably would ignore other dogs (she does so when leashed, that’s not because of me, it’s because she’s stuck up), but a lot of people don’t train their unleashed dogs, and I don’t want large pitbulls running at her. She gets scared really easily, and I don’t want her zooming into the street or something like that (which has happened before now that I type this out, and this would make for an excellent storytime short).

She listens decently well, and is very playful. She has a habit of spinning around (due to how she was brought up before I started training her), which has led to peak slapstick situations (which I will turn into shorts sometime in the future), and she’s a biter. Not in the sense of she’d bite people or other animals, but that she enjoys using her teeth to chew things and play. Fortunately she’s not like Checkers in that, she likes chewing expensive shoes. I was able to train her to chew her own toys, but sometimes she does find some stray tissue or paper towel and goes to town on that.

She is a pleasure to have around for the most part though. She gets very defensive over me, but she’s so small and can’t do anything that it’s cute. She also likes to watch me workout and when I stretch in the morning, she does them too.

That’s all for now. Here’s some pictures of her from when she was a puppy to about 10 minutes before I finished writing this blog. See you later!

-Until next time-
