More Life - Switch 2

Overview

Ever since I was a kid I had been interested and loved video games. It’s been a part of my life since I could remember, but in recent years my time gaming has slowed down. Not just with gaming, but consuming entertainment in general. This is partly due to time spent on making content, but also as you get older your priorities grow.

When the switch 1 launched, I bought it, enjoyed it and loved it. I didn’t have any complaints, but as the release schedule waned, so did my interest. I had assumed this was because I was losing interest in gaming.

With this in mind, I was very reluctant to buy a Switch 2. I had initially thought the price would be about $400, but when it was revealed it turned out to be more expensive than that. Along with that, there weren’t many games I was interested in, so I figured I could wait until next year to get it and save some money. I’ve also been spending way too much this year.

That was the idea at least, but after running errands around 7pm I came across Gamestop. Curiosity hit me and I walked into the store and saw they still had the system’s in stock. Something in me went off and than I wondered: “If they still have them here, maybe they’ll have them at Best Buy”. If they didn’t no big deal because I wasn’t going to buy it anyway (or so I thought).

So the journey commenced.

I went to finish some other errands before I made my way to Best Buy. As soon as I walked in there was a sign that said they sold out of Switch 2’s. So my expectations for buying it were pretty much done. However, after walking inside and asking a store clerk, she said that they did in fact have the units, but not the Mario Kart bundle. Was this my lucky day? Seems so. After ruminating about it with my brother I finally decided to take the plunge and buy the system.

To wrap up, I must admit that I love this system. It’s everything I could have asked for in a game console, and has reinvigorated my passion for gaming. The amount of hours that I play hasn’t gone up, but the quality of that time spent has and it’s great. I’m excited about the future of the console and I’m curious to see what new games Nintendo announces.

Things are looking great and they knocked it out the park. No notes.

-Until next time-
