Every once in a while I get lost in my own thoughts. When this happens I tend to fall into the black hole that is the internet and read a ton of philosophical articles. In recent times, mainly within the last year or so, the question I've had to ask myself is 'what is my purpose'? Now, there are those who don't believe that such a thing exists, but I would disagree. I've done art all my life-changing at least as far back as I can remember, so I had a feeling that if I did have a purpose, art would be a part of expressing it. Sounds simple enough, but this is a concept I've struggled with for a very long time, exacerbated by my personal experiences and pitfalls.

The meat and potatoes behind all of this is a simple thought: what if it were possible to get everything that I wanted? The ability to tell any story that I want, in the most fun and exciting way and without killing myself over it? Could such a thing be possible?

Welcome back! I hope you all are enjoying your summer. As I type this I am taking what is sure to be a brief but well earned vacation (and the first in maybe 10 years!). I’m going to Washington D.C., this trip with family, but as I have some free time, I think this would be a good opportunity to go over how my summer updates have been going. Let’s get to it!

A lot has happened since I started this series last year, and I haven’t talked about it in an objective fashion yet. I want to set up a standard for looking back at my work and reflecting on it, so this will be an annual or semi-annual kind of posting series

Welcome back to new and old readers alike! This is a short blog because I’m super busy at the moment, but I wanted to take a few minutes to hunt down and show some production art. I love making Frame of Mind, but a lot of what goes on into making the shorts is never seen, so I thought this would be a cool way to show off some neat things.

So I'm 28 years old now and with that comes more problems. With great age comes great responsibility. Joking aside, getting older kind of sucks for creating content regularly. I do want to stress that it's not impossible to create a stream of work and lo, I have discovered the best way to do so, but I will detail that later.

I've learned so much this year and I'm very excited to talk about it. I've separated all the lessons I've learned into 3 categories: lessons learned dealing with art and creative pursuits, life lessons and miscellaneous lessons I've learned. Each list will be bulleted with the lesson learned and a small blurb at the end summing up all the lessons.
