Short Commentary

One of the fun things about animating ‘Post Processing’ shorts, is that I never quite know what I’ll be making. Summer time can be very hit or miss for making content and this year I decided to go about things a bit different. While I still want to put shorts out consistently, I also don’t want to make a showpiece short during the summer because viewership tends to drop off for me and there’s nothing worse than putting so much time into something and no one sees it.

With all of this in mind I decided to use a romance themed tweet for the foundation of the short. Romance shorts are fun to make and are a good format to experiment with and as I was putting together the ideas for this short, ‘summer love’ kept springing into my mind. It didn’t take much longer to fall on burning man, which is a notorious event known for its debauchery and suddenly, I had everything I needed to make this short.

As I was planning the short, the most important goal was to not go over the production time. The previous short ‘ Devilish Desires’ took such a long time to make that in order to get back on track, I would need to make the production time for the following shorts more quickly. Fortunately I was able to achieve this, and had fun making it to boot.

Production Commentary

There wasn’t anything new with this short, and it had a very smooth development process. Once production started it only took a few days before everything was finished up which felt amazing. I do enjoy longer production shorts from time to time, but I favor shorter productions more

Overall, I think it came out well. It’s a different type of short for my catalogue and I’m always excited to get a chance to venture out of my comfort zone.
